Looking for Leola Bear? You’ll probably find her in her South London studio, surrounded by paintings, sculptures and fashion creations. When she’s not there, she’s off travelling, in search of inspiration and the perfect shade of plum.
A gifted and absent-minded artist (she’s prone to reheating the same cup of tea three times), Leola always gets lost in her work. She can’t help it: when inspiration strikes, the hours just fly by… Thankfully, her cousin Bartholomew Bear is always there to pour her a fresh cup of tea and bring her a plate of (slightly squashed) biscuits. He knows the drill!
He also happens to be her favourite muse. She’s made all his costumes, from Heartthrob’s ruby stage outfit to the Bat Bear cape he wore to a Halloween party. Even his daring Sun costume was an original Leola creation, designed to give him confidence for his carnival debut.
One day, her talent will be recognised. But for now, Leola is happy just making magical things for her friends and family. (Bear)
